Review: Tempest's Legacy (Jane True #3)

Tempest's Legacy (Jane True, #3)

Description

Jane True has become proficient in basic magics, confident in herself and her abilities, and happily rooted in Rockabill. Her life is still divided between her supernatural brethren and her human friends and family, but it’s a division she maintains with very little trouble.
Everything changes, however, when Anyan brings Jane news that will force her to confront her dichotomized existence – supernatural females are being murdered, or have simply disappeared.
Jane and Anyan must embark on a desperate search to find out who is abducting these women, and how Jane can be protected from them. Aiding them is Jane’s former flame, Ryu. But can his stated motivations be trusted? And who are the mysterious figures dogging Jane’s and Anyan’s footsteps if not minions of Jarl?
Eventually, the trio stumble upon a secret so huge that it threatens to disrupt the tenuous traditions keeping humanity safe from the supernatural community that has, up until now, been content to lurk in the shadows.
Will they uncover the truth in time to save Jane’s friends? And just how far will Jarl go to protect his secrets?

Review

Jane True is my absolute favorite half selkie urban fantasy character. Ok, Ok, she is the only half selkie I have ever read about. But, Jane is an amazing heroin. If you are just now hearing about this series you need to run yourself down to the book store and get caught up, because you are truly missing out.

Jane really came into her own in this installment. She is getting a handle on her powers, and on her personal life. Jane has to deal with finding out what is happening with the women that are going missing, in the midst of this investigation Jane finds out shocking news about her mother. Even when things are series the author does a great job at bringing in comic relief. Jane has constant conversations with her libido, that will make you laugh out loud.

*Spoiler Alert*
Finally the sexual tension between Anyan and Jane. First, let me just say I am glad she is over Ryu. He drove me crazy and not in a good way. But, could we not get some action between Anyan and Jane, not even some kissing. That’s all I’m saying.
*End Spoiler*

I am so excited for the next book. Eye of the Tempest it comes out July 26 2011. I can’t wait to see what Jane gets herself into next, and who helps her get out of it.
Happy Reading, Rebecca
