I’m a Giver!

I got the word last week that I would get to be a giver once again this year!

If you don’t know what World Book Night is you can click this link, or watch the video below.

I had such an amazing time last year giving out The Lightning Thief, and spreading my love of Percy Jackson to some awesome middle school students.

That’s me in the middle of the table.

This year I get to give away a book that I love and have featured on the Spine many times. In fact I just finished the graphic novel version and the review will be up soon. This year I will be giving…

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. And a strange collection of very curious photographs.
It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children who once lived here—one of whom was his own grandfather— were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a desolate island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

I can’t wait to give Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children! I think this year I am going to look into getting in touch with the high school counselor of my old school to see about giving books there.

Have all of you heard about WBN before?
Are you going to be a giver this year? Or do you plan on applying next year?
Happy Reading & Book PushingWinking smile
